Melano

Tradition: Polished Black/Brown Fine Ware
Group: Melano
Type: Conpermiso Red-on-Brown
Variety: Conpermiso
Phase: Early Acbi, Late Acbi, Acbi/Coner Transition

The most common form in the Conpermiso variety was a (sub)hemispherical bowl with a ring base. A few other forms have been found, such as globular bowls, flaring-walled bowls, and cylindrical vases. A red-slipped band would be applied to the exterior rim and sometimes on the interior rim. The rest of the surface is normally a shade of brown and has been treated with a thin orange-slip.
