The typical form of the Chilanga variety were bowls with flaring walls and rims of varying thicknesses. An orange slip is applied to the exterior, but this surface is not as well treated as the interior.

Tradition: Maya Polychrome
Group: Caterpillar
Type: Caterpillar Polychrome
Variety: Copador
Phase: Acbi/Coner Transition, Early Coner, Late Coner

Copador most commonly took the form of shallow dishes with either slightly outcurving walls or outflaring walls with horizontal rims. There are also a few examples of deeper dishes with outflaring walls. Specular hematite red paint and black paint were used for decorating motifs onto the interior surface, atop of an orange slip. Pseudoglyphic and zoomorphic motifs were popular in this variety. The exterior would be slipped with an orange or brown color and decorated on the rim with a red-slipped band.
